CHALLENGE

One tool to rule them all

Between 2014 and 2015, I designed a variety of key features for Declara, a knowledge-sharing platform, including Sign-Up, Onboarding, Insights & Discussions, Home Feed, B2B Channels, and Content Authoring.

I worked closely with the VP of product, PM's, and engineering across the entire design process, from research to design to prototype to rollout.

RESEARCH

Knowledge for all

Life Hacker

The creative target at the center of this audience is the life Hacker, a highly motivated and ambitious prosumer who works in a collaborative, knowledge-driven enterprise. The life Hacker is a millennial whose world view sounds a call to action, who dismisses hierarchy in favor of directness and tangible contribution. They tend to be overachievers by nature and are hungry for whatever knowledge they believe to be relevant to helping them make a meaningful impact.

Enterprise Buyer

The Declara buyer of the future will be a C-level executive at a rapidly growing 500+ employee company. She (and her business) are under pressure to be nimble and adaptive, and she has a vested interest in catalyzing collaboration to improve outcomes in many areas of the organization.

Aspiring Knowledge Worker

Actively desires an engaging professional career, and may be a current university student and/or a worker trying to pay the bills in a pre-professional job while they gather the knowledge and experience required to enter the enterprise workforce.

Enterprise Collaborator

The enterprise collaborator is influenced by the Life Hacker. The Enterprise Collaborator is a secondary adopter within the enterprise who is willing to try new tools that have been identified and recommended by thought leaders they respect. They are likely a teammate or a familiar colleague of the life Hacker whose daily work brings them into contact.

Funded by a grant from Chan Zuckerberg Initiative to accelerate Design Tech High's (d.tech) implementation of new learning models, I was brought in as a Designer in Residence for 8 months to collaborate with the Stanford d.school to (1) improve d.tech's design programming for students; and (2) create various resources to help staff adopt design thinking as a change management process.
